When planning what we wanted our blog to be about, we thought it might be fitting to have a brief Monday Motivation post courtesy of Maggie to share each week because…Mondays and alliteration.
Last Friday, Michelle Obama gave her final address as First Lady at an event honoring the 2017 School Counselor of the Year. It’s a beautiful address and you can watch the whole thing here.
I thought I would share a few words from her speech, words I plan to keep in front of me every day.
“When you are struggling and you think about giving up, think about the power of hope. The belief that something better is possible if you’re willing to work for it and fight for it.”
“The hope that when people see us for who we truly are maybe, just maybe, they too will be inspired to rise to their best possible selves.”
“Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be determined, be hopeful, be empowered…Build a country worthy of your boundless promise.”
Have a great Monday!
